Pat Rogers boston Pd suicide today – BPD Officer, ‘Boston’s Finest’ Cast Member dead

A Boston Police Officer, who regularly appeared on a show produced by Donnie Wahlberg, tragically passed away last week, reportedly taking his own life. Despite this loss, the series is still scheduled to premiere its second season tonight.

Just a week before the return of “Boston’s Finest,” the Boston Police Department was grieving the sudden death of Officer Pat Rogers.

On November 22, the Boston Globe identified Rogers as the officer who took his own life, in an article that delved into the stresses of law enforcement work and the broader issue of “cop suicide.”

A preview of the new season was supposed to be aired by Wahlberg at the Revere Hotel last week, with Mayor Tom Menino and members of the department in attendance, but the event was canceled following the news of Rogers’s death.

Requests for details about the circumstances of Rogers’ death from the Boston Police Department were not immediately answered.

Wahlberg, the producer of the TNT drama, tweeted about the death last week but did not specify which cast member had passed away.

A Facebook page titled “Remembering Officer Patrick Rogers Boston Police Dept.” has been created to honor Rogers, where those who knew him are sharing their thoughts and prayers.

“We do not know the circumstances yet about the tragic loss of Officer Rogers,” the page states. “It also may be easy to overlook, with the ‘glitz and glamour’ of television, that he was a real working law enforcement officer, but indeed he was a cop, blue to the bone. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, brothers and sisters on the BPD, and many friends.”
